Who it suits

First-time visitors to India who want the main monuments in under a week, couples, and families with children over about eight who are happy with early starts and long drives. It is a sightseeing pace, not a rest break.

Fitness and health notes

Expect two to four hours of walking a day, uneven stone steps at the forts, and drives of four to five hours between cities. Delhi to Agra and Agra to Jaipur are road transfers. Wheelchair access is limited at Amber Fort and parts of Agra Fort; tell us your needs and the guide will plan around them. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so the coordinator orders the days around that.

Accessibility

Level access is possible at the Taj Mahal main path and the hotels; the forts have steep ramps and steps. Ask for a mobility-friendly version.

Itinerary

Delhi – Agra – Jaipur · 6 days / 5 nights. A sample day-by-day plan; the final plan is set on your written quote.

  1. Day 1

    Arrive in Delhi

A driver meets you at the airport with a name board and takes you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free; if you arrive early, a short stroll around Lodhi Garden is an easy way to start.

  2. Day 2

    Old and New Delhi

Morning in Old Delhi: Jama Masjid, a walk through the spice market lanes of Chandni Chowk and a tasting stop for parathas and chaat. After lunch, Humayun's Tomb and a drive past India Gate and the government quarter designed by Lutyens.

  3. Day 3

    Drive to Agra, Agra Fort

Leave after breakfast for Agra, about four hours by expressway. After checking in, visit Agra Fort, the red sandstone residence of the Mughal court, with views across the river towards the Taj Mahal. Evening free; the marble-inlay workshops are an option.

  4. Day 4

Taj Mahal at sunrise, then Jaipur

Enter the Taj Mahal soon after opening, when the grounds are quieter, with the guide explaining the building and the gardens. After breakfast, drive to Jaipur (about five hours), with an optional stop at the abandoned red-sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri.

  5. Day 5

    Jaipur forts and palaces

Amber Fort in the morning, then the City Palace museum, the Jantar Mantar observatory and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. Late afternoon is free for the bazaars: block-printed textiles, jewellery and blue pottery. Dinner at a Rajasthani restaurant is optional.

  6. Day 6

    Return to Delhi and depart

A morning drive back to Delhi (about five hours) in time for an onward flight, which should be booked for the evening or later. We can add a night in Delhi if you prefer a morning flight.
