Treatment in India for patients from Iraq

Iraq is among the countries the Press Information Bureau lists as a source of medical-purpose arrivals in India for 2025, second only to Bangladesh in its ranking. If you are in Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Najaf or elsewhere, this is what to prepare and what we can offer.

YourHeal India is a consultant and introducer — we are not a hospital or medical provider. Hospitals, doctors, hotels, taxis, wellness centres and tour operators listed here are independent third parties; we do not own or run them. We introduce you, request quotes and coordinate the arrangements, and each provider is responsible for its own service, prices and terms. In an emergency call local emergency services.

Arabic and Kurdish records

Arabic-language support is not yet in place at YourHeal India; our coordinators write in English. Kurdish is not covered either. If your hospital reports, scan descriptions or discharge letters are in Arabic or Kurdish, have the important pages translated into English first, since a specialist reviewing them in India will otherwise be guessing.

Dinar and written estimates

Estimates are given in US dollars; the Iraqi dinar is your own conversion to make. Ask for the estimate to be itemised: consultation, investigations, procedure, room category, medicines and the number of days assumed.

Time difference

Iraq is two and a half hours behind Indian Standard Time. A consultation at 4 p.m. in India is 1:30 p.m. in Iraq, so afternoon slots in India usually suit you best.

If a sponsor or employer is paying

Some Iraqi patients are supported by an employer, an institution or an insurer. If someone else is paying, ask them for a written guarantee letter and find out exactly which costs it covers before you travel. We cannot arrange or confirm that approval for you.

Travelling with family

Most patients bring a relative. Tell us who is coming and whether a female attendant is needed, so that accommodation and appointments are planned for everyone, not just the patient.

Visa

Visa help is guidance only. The decision is made by the authorities, and requirements depend on your nationality and change over time. Check the current rules on the official Indian visa portal before you book anything. indianvisaonline.gov.in

Questions from Iraq

Do you have Arabic-speaking staff?
Not yet. Arabic support is being arranged, and we will tell you plainly if a service is unavailable in your language.
My scans are on a disc from an Iraqi hospital. Is that enough?
Send the disc images and the written report. If the report is in Arabic, add an English translation of the key findings.
How are costs quoted?
In US dollars, as a written estimate from the hospital after it reviews your records. Any earlier figure is only a planning estimate.
What if my employer or an institution is paying?
Ask them for a written guarantee letter that names the hospital and the costs covered, and share its terms with us when you enquire.
What time can I have a video consultation?
Iraq is 2.5 hours behind India, so an afternoon slot in India falls around midday or early afternoon for you.

How it works: you send records, a partner hospital gives an opinion and a written estimate, and you decide whether to travel. We do not publish a price for your treatment; any figure is a planning estimate until a hospital quotes in writing.
