Treatment in India for patients from Bangladesh

Bangladesh was the largest source of foreign medical-purpose arrivals in India in 2025, according to the Press Information Bureau. This page explains how a family in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet or elsewhere can prepare, and what we can and cannot do for you today.

YourHeal India is a consultant and introducer — we are not a hospital or medical provider. Hospitals, doctors, hotels, taxis, wellness centres and tour operators listed here are independent third parties; we do not own or run them. We introduce you, request quotes and coordinate the arrangements, and each provider is responsible for its own service, prices and terms. In an emergency call local emergency services.

Language, honestly

Our coordinators work in English. A Bangla-speaking coordinator is something we are still arranging, so please do not assume one is available. If a relative or friend can help you write, that is welcome. Reports in Bangla can be sent as they are, but a hospital will usually want the key pages translated into English.

Taka and estimates

Hospital estimates reach you in US dollars. Convert them to Bangladeshi taka yourself on the day you decide, because the rate moves, and ask whether the quoted figure includes medicines, tests and the room. Ask your bank how it handles a payment sent abroad before the hospital deadline, not after.

Scheduling across a short time gap

Bangladesh is only 30 minutes ahead of Indian Standard Time, so a video consultation with a doctor in India falls in ordinary working hours on both sides. Pick a slot when the person who knows the full history of the illness can sit beside you.

Bring your treatment history

The most useful thing you can carry is the whole story: every prescription, every discharge summary, the dates of earlier procedures, and the name of the doctor who knows you best. Scan discs and original reports should travel in your hand luggage.

Plan the follow-up before you leave

Treatment in India is rarely the end of the care. Ask the hospital for a written summary and medicine list in English, show it to your doctor in Bangladesh before you go, and agree who will review wound checks, blood tests or scans once you are home.

Visa

Visa help is guidance only. The decision is made by the authorities, and requirements depend on your nationality and change over time. Check the current rules on the official Indian visa portal before you book anything. indianvisaonline.gov.in

Questions from Bangladesh

Can I send my reports in Bangla?
Yes, you can send them, but doctors in India read English. Handwritten Bangla prescriptions and notes should be translated or summarised in English, and printed lab reports usually need no translation.
What currency are estimates in?
US dollars. We do not quote in Bangladeshi taka because the exchange rate changes; convert on the day you pay and confirm what the hospital accepts.
Is there a time difference with India?
Bangladesh is 30 minutes ahead of Indian Standard Time, so video consultations are easy to schedule within normal hours.
Should I bring someone with me?
Many patients do. Tell us in the enquiry how many people will travel, because the stay and the transfers are planned for the whole group.
Who looks after me when I return home?
Your own doctor. Ask the hospital for a discharge summary in English before you leave and show it to your doctor in Bangladesh.

How it works: you send records, a partner hospital gives an opinion and a written estimate, and you decide whether to travel. We do not publish a price for your treatment; any figure is a planning estimate until a hospital quotes in writing.
